Data

At the last Census, over 24,000 Victorians and 116,000 Australians were without a home on any given night.

The most recent data on homelessness from the Australian Bureau of Statistics was collected at the 2016 Census and was published in 2018. New Census data is being collected in 2021 and is due to be released in 2022.

Data is regularly released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) to provide an up-to-date picture of homelessness in Victoria and Australia.
